Hello neighbors!

We have an exciting announcement — we’ve partnered with Chefs on Call! This a special new nonprofit project created to help immigrants in our community who are extraordinary cooks achieve economic security using their culinary talents. You can support the project and enjoy delicious home-cooked, ready-to eat South Asian and West African dinners by ordering on their website. Orders are due each week on Wednesday evenings by 8pm, and you can pick up your order at the Co-op the following day, Thursdays, from 5-7pm sharp.

As the program continues, the hope is to expand pick-up hours and locations, offer a more diverse menu, and even include delivery.

Well, it may not look quite like spring yet, but IT IS ON ITS WAY…! And we are celebrating our 11TH ANNIVERSARY in March — hooray!!

And we have some exciting plans in the works, too — fresh new ideas and opportunities for the store, for the community, and for YOU!

Well, there seems to be some dispute among the groundhogs, but the snow was melting today, anyway, and at 33 degrees, it felt like springtime! Hoorayyy!!

We’re all navigating winter as best we can and are certainly looking forward to spring, but meanwhile, your friendly neighborhood co-op is ALWAYS chock-full of delish fresh stuff for you, and this week we also have a brand new delivery of local handcrafted beeswax Sunbeam candles — Valentine’s Day specials to brighten things up and spread good vibes and smiles all around!

Come on in! All are welcome to shop anytime, and if you haven’t joined yet, you can sign up right in the store whenever we’re open! Looking forward to seeing you soon!

Well, what kinds of resolutions did you make for this brand new year? Hopefully, you resolved to JOIN YOUR FRIENDLY LOCAL NEIGHBORHOOD FOOD CO-OP… and that means US! Hooray!

And why should you join our small yet mighty co-op? Well, because you want to support:

• A fair, ethical, and sustainable food system not governed by corporations and greed
• Local small farmers and producers
• Kind treatment of people, animals, and the earth
• A community-owned and operated store right in your neighborhood that offers great food at affordable prices

We are always OPEN TO THE PUBLIC, so come on in and shop anytime (and remember, we offer a 3% discount if you pay with cash!), and while you’re at it, sign up right in the store!

Membership is a one-time investment of $100 for an individual, $60 for students/seniors, $175 for dual/family (more than one member sharing shifts), and free for those using EBT. Being an active member entails doing a 2-hour shift every 5 weeks (easy!), and that entitles you to a 5% discount if paying with a card and an 8% discount if paying with cash — sweet! The discount more than makes up for your investment in no time at all!

And remember — joining a co-op means you’re not only a member, you’re an owner, and all members have a say in what happens at the store! So if you haven’t done so already, please stop in anytime we’re open and check out the store, meet our managers and other member-owners, and get involved! We’re looking forward to meeting you!

• Friday, January 2: OPEN 12pm – 6pm

On top of all our usual great stuff, we also now have Sunbeam natural soy and beeswax candles straight from Ithaca, NY, to light up the season even more — come pick some up!

Tuesday, November 25, 12pm-8pm — pop-up Tuesday! This is pick-up day for those who pre-ordered turkeys and pies, and we’ll also be open for business as usual with all your faves, plus a few extra pies from Noble Pies family bakery in Warwick, NY! Don’t delay — come on down and get em!

Thursday, November 27, and Friday, November 28 — CLOSED

Saturday, November 29, and Sunday, November 30 — 10am-5:30pm (new slightly later weekend hours — hooray!)

Well, the holiday season is upon us, and we are ready!

We have loads of seasonal produce, including apples, pears, and squash, and this week we even have persimmons! They look like an apple-tomato and taste like an apricot! Originating in China, they have since become the “national fruit” of Japan, and are now grown throughout the world — this week, ours come from Happy Dirt in Durham, NC! They’re crisp and juicy, so they’re good for eating raw as well as for baking — see our Persimmon Pudding Cake recipe on our Recipes page! All ingredients are available for you at the co-op!

We have everything you need for your other holiday baking projects, too, including both gluten-free and local organic flour and other grains, ethically-sourced pure vanilla extract, plant-based food coloring, a wide range of sweeteners, including local honey and bulk maple syrup, organic sugar, molasses, date syrup, chocolate, and cocoa powder, loads of bulk organic nuts and dried fruits, and a full range of bulk spices! Come on in and stock up!

And remember that we have a request sheet, so you can ask us to stock what you’d like — we’ll do our very best to get it for you!
